PREVIEW: Indoor slate set to resume with Alumni Meet

VERMILLION, S.D. — After a month break, the South Dakota track and field squad is ready to resume its' season Saturday as the Coyotes host the USD Alumni Meet inside the DakotaDome.
 
THE MEET
The USD Alumni Meet is scheduled to begin at noon Saturday on the Mildred J. Hillenbrand Memorial Track inside the DakotaDome. It is South Dakota's lone indoor home meet of the 2024-25 season. Morningside, Dakota State, Sioux Falls, and South Dakota State will be sending athletes to compete against the Coyotes.
 
FOR USD ALUMNI & TRACK SUPPORTERS
Tickets for Saturday's meet are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Seating is only available on the east side of the DakotaDome, and fans can enter the DakotaDome through the Southeast Entrance of the Dome.
 
All alumni are welcome to attend Saturday's meet. Following the 4x400 relays, there will be a mixed 4x200 relay. Anyone interested in running can contact Director of Operations Gabi Damiano at Gabi.Damiano@usd.edu.
 
There will be light snacks in the Dome Club for an Alumni Social. There will also be four other youth events: turbo javelin, triple jump into the sand pit, obstacle course, and a 50-meter dash. Any kids who participate will receive a t-shirt for competing.
 
Due to the South Dakota men's basketball game against North Dakota State, there is an updated parking map with available parking for spectators. Fans are encouraged to park in the general parking areas Saturday.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Coyotes last competed at the SDSU Holiday Invite on Dec. 6 and 7 in Brookings.
• Landon Olson earned Summit League Peak Performer honors for his 7-0 ½ mark in the high jump, winning the event and climbing to fourth in USD history for the event.
• South Dakota won 11 events at the meet, including Anna Robinson (400, 4x400) and Sara Reifenrath (300, 4x400) winning two events each.
• Five new Coyote Top 10 marks were set at the meet, including Olson's high jump mark.
• Freshman Anna Willis won the women's pole vault with a height of 13-11 ¼, which is good for seventh on the USD Top 10.
• Mason Sindelar won the 800-meters with a time of 1:51.25, good for fifth on the USD Top 10.
• Two freshman 60-meter hurdlers, Jaden Damiano (7.92 seconds) and Sophie Amin (8.52), entered the Coyote Top 10 in fourth and third respectively.
• Matayah Yellowmule placed inside the top three in the long jump and triple jump.
