VERMILLION, S.D. – Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Lucky Huber has announced 27 additions to the track and field program for the 2026-27 year.

The incoming class includes 24 freshmen and three transfers.

Evan Abild (Sprints; Sioux Falls, S.D.)
A standout sprinter for Sioux Falls Lincoln High School, Abild comes to South Dakota with some national accolades to go with his state 400-meter title. Abild, along with fellow incoming Coyote
Isaac Herrboldt, won three Nike Outdoor Nationals Relay Championships this summer. As a prep runner, he won an individual 400-meter state title and was a part of two team championships for the Patriots. He holds personal bests of 47.71 in the 400 and 21.76 in the 200. A National Honors Society member, Abild plans to major in business at USD.

Tyler Daly (Jumps; Papillion, Neb.)
A state high jump champion from Papillion, Neb.,
Tyler Daly joins the Yote jumps squad this fall. Daly, holding a personal best of 6-9 was a all-state first teamer, a 2025 Class B champion, a 2025 USA Track and Field All-State First Team honoree at Platteview HS. He also competed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals this summer in the high jump. Daly plans to major in business administration at USD.

Addison Darnell (Hurdles; Auburn, Neb.)
One of the best hurdlers in Nebraska Class B history is making her way to Vermillion this fall, as
Addison Darnell, the state meet record holder in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdlers will join the USD hurdle crew. Darnell is a three-time state champion in the 300-meter hurdles and won her first 100-meter hurdle title in record time at the state meet this spring. She holds personal bests of 14.23 in the 100-meter hurdles and 43.55 in the 300-meter hurdles. She did not lose a hurdle race she competed in during her senior season. A three-sport athlete for the Bulldogs, Darnell was a four time honorable mention all-state softball player and an all-conference basketball player. Darnell plans to go into physical therapy.

Dawson Dougherty (Sprints; Cedar Rapids, Iowa)
Dawson Dougherty joins the Coyote sprint squad after a standout prep career at Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. A first team all-conference and all-metro performer, Dougherty qualified for state in both the 100 and 200-meters. He holds personal bests of 6.88 in the 60, 10.47 in the 100, and 21.88 in the 200. Outside of track, Dougherty played football and baseball for the Cougars and was a Mississippi Valley Conference all-Academic. He plans to major in kinesiology & sport management at USD.

Kiyah Enoch (Sprints/Hurdles; Denver, Colo.)
Kiyah Enoch makes her way to Vermillion after a prep career at Smoky Hill High School. A Centennial All-League athlete for the Buffaloes, Enoch holds personal bests of 14.32 in the 100-meter hurdles and 43.77 in the 300-meter hurdles. She competed at the New Balance Nationals Outdoors in 2025 in the 100-meter hurdles and took sixth at the Kansas Relays in the 100 hurdles as a junior. Enoch is an academic all-state honorable mention and a National Honors Society member who plans to major in kinesiology & sport management at USD.

Taryn Hermansen (Throws; Aberdeen, S.D.)
A two-time South Dakota Class AA Champion for Aberdeen Central High School,
Taryn Hermansen joins the Coyote throws squad this fall. Hermansen holds a shot put best of 48-11 and won her second shot put state title this spring. She also set a discus personal best of 118-4 at the state meet this spring, placing third. Hermansen has two Howard Wood Dakota Relays shot put titles and competed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in the shot put this summer, placing 13
th. Outside of track and field, Hermansen was an all-state basketball player for the Golden Eagles and also competed in volleyball. Hermansen is also academic all-state student-athlete.

Isaac Herrboldt (Mid Distance; Sioux Falls, S.D.)
Isaac Herrboldt comes to South Dakota already having earned national success on the track, having earned three Nike Outdoor Nationals Championship awards and three all-American honors for Sioux Falls Lincoln High School. Herrboldt specializes in the 400-meters and also ran the 800 for the Patriots. He was a three-time state champion in track and three-time state champ in soccer for Lincoln. He holds personal bests of 48.41 in the 400 and 1:55 in the 800. Herrboldt was a three-sport athlete for the Patriots, also playing basketball to go with his success in track and soccer. A National Honors Society member, Herrboldt plans to major in finance at USD.

Brennen Hoyer (Mid Distance; Cedar Falls, Iowa)
Brennan Hoyer comes to USD to run track for the Yotes after a successful prep career at Cedar Falls High School. His senior year, he was a 4x800 state champion and took third individually in the 800 at the state meet. He was a multiple-time Elite All-State honoree and all-conference honoree. He was a Nike Nationals all-American in the 4x800 and holds personal bests of 1:51.81 in the 800 and 49.05 in the 400. Hoyer plans to major in marketing at USD.

Cooper Kowalczyk (Throws; St. Charles, Minn.)
Cooper Kowalczyk joins the Yote throws squad after a standout prep career at St. Charles North High School in St. Charles, Illinois. He was a two-time all-conference track honoree and track team MVP for the North Stars. He holds personal bests of 60-9 in the shot put and 157-3 in the discus. Also competing football, Kowalczyk was a two-time all-conference lineman and a team captain. An academic all-conference athlete, Kowalczyk plans to major in nursing.

Kaiden Kunze (Sprints/Jumps; Norwalk, Iowa)
Kaiden Kunze is a four-time state champion for Nowalk High School, winning the 100-, 200-, and 400-meters on the track and the long jump in the field. His long jump personal best of 24-5 ranks fourth in Iowa prep history. At the Drake Relays this spring, Kunze set the Drake Relays record in the 400 at 47.60 and also won the long jump. At the Nike Outdoor Nationals this summer, Kunze placed fifth in the long jump. His personal bests include 10.52 in the 100, 21.21 in the 200, 47.60 in the 400, and 24-5 in the long jump. A four-sport athlete for Norwalk, Kunze also competed in football, basketball, and cross country.

Miciah LeLaCheur (Multis; West Des Moines, Iowa)
A do-it-all athlete for Valley High School,
Miciah LeLaCheur plans to compete in the multis for the Coyotes. As a prep, LeLaCheur is multi-time Drake Relays Champion and state qualifier in the hurdles, long jump, and relays. He also competed in the outdoor high school pentathlon at the IATC Outdoor Championships where he won the event with 2870 points. He holds personal bests of 10.78 in the 100, 13.97 in the 110m hurdles, 6-6 in the high jump and 24-1 ¾ in the long jump. LeLaCheur was an Elite All-State and Des Moines Register all-state athlete. He also competed in football for the Tigers and earned three all-conference academic honors. He plans to major in business at USD.

Anna Lursen (Mid Distance; Fort Dodge, Iowa)
Anna Lursen comes to South Dakota after a strong prep career at St. Edmond High School in Fort Dodge. Lursen is an all-state performer who earned 12 medals in her time with the Gaels. She holds a personal best of 1:04.29 in the 400-meter hurdles and 56.97 in the open 400. She also competed in cross country for St. Edmond, where she two was a State Cross Country top 20 finisher. Lursen played basketball and competed in cheerleading as well. An academic all-state student-athlete, Lursen plans to major in Kinesiology & Sport Management and Psychology.

Ellie Magnus (Sprints; Hastings, Minn.)
A multi-time all-state and section champion from Hastings (Minn.) High School,
Ellie Magnus joins the Yote sprinters this fall. Magnus was a section champion in the 100 and 200 her senior year and was a state runner-up in the 100. She holds personal bests of 11.80 in the 100 and 24.11 in the 200. An academic all-state honoree, magnus plans to major in education.

Ruby Marble (Sprints; Mankato, Minn.)
Ruby Marble is a Minnesota 100- and 200-meter state champion from Mankato West High School. She's also a two-time all-conference performer in the 100 and a four-time all-conference performer in the 200. She holds personal bests of 11.88 in the 100 and 24.27 in the 200. Outside of track, Marble is a state mountain bike racing champion and plans to major in marketing at USD.

Kori McClain (Distance; North Platte, Neb.)
Kori McClain comes to South Dakota after a successful prep career at North Platte High School, where she was a six time state medalist in cross country and track and field. She earned two state cross country medals and four state track medals for the Bulldogs. McClain holds four track school records. McClain holds personal bests of 5:01 in the 1600-meters, 10:58 in the 3200-meters, and 17:58 in the cross country 5k distance. McClain was also a volleyball player for the Bulldogs. She also is an academic all-state honoree and a National Honors Society member and plans to major in business at USD.

Cohen Moll (Distance; Ankeny, Iowa)
Cohen Moll is an Ankeny Centennial school record holder in the 800-meters, 1600-meters, 4x800 relay, and the sprint medley relay. He joins USD this fall to run cross country and track. Placed 14
th at state in cross country to earn elite all-state honors. He is a three-year Drake Relays and state cross country qualifier and is a four-year state track qualifier for Centennial. He holds personal bests of 1:52 in the 800, 4:16 in the 1600, and a cross country 5k best of 15:30. Moll is a academic all-state honoree in cross country and plans to major in exercise science at USD.

Caleb Muehler (Distance; McPherson, Kan.)
Caleb Muehler comes to Vermillion after winning three Kansas 4A State Cross Country Championships and over 10 state medals on the track for McPherson High School. Outside of his three state titles in cross country, Muehler won a 3200-meter state title his junior season and was runner-up his senior season. He holds personal bests of 1:56 in the 800, 4:18.73 in the 1600 and 9:24.70 in the 3200. Muehler earned KCCTFCA Academic all-State honors and plans to major in medical biology and neuroscience.

Lauren Myers (Distance; Monument, Colo.)
Lauren Myers plans to double dip at USD, competing in triathlon as well as cross country for the Yotes. As a cross country athlete in high school, Myers was a four-time state qualifier, three-time all-state runner for Air Academy High School. Her team won two state titles and was runner-up another year and they set the record for the fastest team in Colorado state history. At the Nike Cross Nationals, Myers competed three times with an individual best finish of 91
st. Her team won a team title as well. She holds a 5k cross country best of 18:15 that translates to 17:34 at lower altitude. Myers plans to major in business at South Dakota.

Jackson Rhinehart (Throws; Cedar Rapids, Iowa)
A discus thrower for Kennedy High School,
Jackson Rhinehart threw 176-5 at the Drake Relays where he won a Drake Relays crown his senior season. He placed third at the Iowa State Championships this spring in the discus and set his personal best of 179-4 at the New Balance Nationals this summer. An all-conference performer for the Cougars, Rhinehart also competed in football. An honor roll student, he plans to major in kinesiology & sport management at USD.

Noah Ross (Sprints; Ankeny, Iowa)
A three-time school record holder for Ankeny Centennial High School,
Noah Ross is set to join the Coyote sprints squad this season. Ross holds the Jaguar school record in the 100, 4x100, and 4x200. He holds personal bests of 10.61 in the 100 and 22.57 in the 200. An academic all-conference honoree, Ross plans to major in accounting.

Isaiah Smith (Distance, Ankeny, Iowa)
A four-time state cross country qualifier and a Drake Relays and state 4x800 champion,
Isaiah Smith comes to Vermillion to join the Yote distance squad. He holds personal bests of 4:12 in the 1600, 1:51.37 in the 800, and 15:11 in the 5k cross country distance. A wrestler for the Hawks as well, Smith is a National Honor Society member and an academic all-state student-athlete. He plans to major in kinesiology & sport management at USD.

Landon Wegleitner (Distance; Lee's Summit, Mo.)
Landon Wegleitner is a conference champion in the 800-meters and 1600-meters and a four-time all-state performer for Lee's Summit West High School. He earned two cross country and two track all-state honors and holds the school 1600-meter record. His personal bests include a 4:13.26 in the 1600 and a 15:32 in the 5k in cross country. A Principal's Honor Roll student each semester of high school, Wegleitner plans to major in exercise science at South Dakota.

Cali Whitaker (Sprints; Mount Vernon, Iowa)
Caliana Whitaker won three state titles and three state runners-up for Mount Vernon High School, and comes to South Dakota to run sprints for the Coyotes. Whitaker claimed the 200 and 400 state titles individually to help Mount Vernon win a team championship. She holds personal bests of 12.10 in the 100, 24.44 in the 200, and 55.51 in the 400. Off the track, Whitaker is a volleyball state champion and second team all-state honoree. Whitaker plans to major in business at USD.

Alyx Woodley (Distance; Johnston, Iowa)
A cross country and track standout from Johnston, Iowa,
Alyx Woodley joins the Yotes this fall. Woodley earned three first team all-state honors in cross country and was a state qualifier in the 1500 and 4x800 this spring. Woodley holds personal bests of 4:38.96 in the 1500-meters and 17:35 in the 5k. Woodley is a National Honors Society member and plans to major in business at USD.

Danal Dean (Jumps; Sioux Falls, S.D.; University of Sioux Falls)
Danal Dean transfers to South Dakota after competing one year at the University of Sioux Falls for former Coyote standout Kamberlyn Lamer. He competed at the WSC Wildcat Opener indoor in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump for the Cougars. A prep standout at Roosevelt High School in Sioux Falls, Dean was a state runner-up in the high jump his senior year and runner-up in the long jump his junior year. Also took third in the long jump and fourth in the triple his senior year. He also held personal bests of 6-7 in the high jump, 22-10 in the long jump, and 45-5 in the triple jump. Dean also competed in basketball at Roosevelt. He plans to major in nursing at USD.

Brady Wallace (Hurdles; Treynor, Iowa; South Dakota State)
Brady Wallace joins South Dakota after spending his freshman season at South Dakota State, where he placed fourth at the Summit League Championships in the indoor 60-meter hurdles (8.0 seconds) and in the outdoor 110-meter hurdles (14.04). He ran collegiate bests of 7.90 seconds in the 60m hurdles and 14.04 seconds in the 110m hurdles. A prep athlete at Treynor, Wallace won three state championships in 2025 and three runner-up finishes in 2024. He won a Drake Relays and a Kansas Relays championship his senior year. An academic all-district honoree, Wallace plans to major in business at USD.

Jack Williams (Distance; Lee's Summit, Mo.; Northwest Missouri State)
Joining the Coyotes after spending his freshman season at Division II Northwest Missouri State,
Jack Williams will compete for USD cross country and track and field. During his time with the Bearcats, Williams was a three-time MIAA conference qualifier and set personal bests in four events. During the 2025-26 indoor season, he ran on the MIAA third place indoor distance medley relay squad for the Bearcats. During his prep career at Lee's Summit West High School, Williams earned two cross country all-state honors. He also earned all-American honors at the 2025 Nike Outdoor Nationals in the 4x800. He holds personal bests of 1:53 in the 800, 4:12 in the mile, 8:32 in the 3000, and 14:59 in the 5000. Williams plans to major in special education.
