VERMILLION, S.D. ­— South Dakota Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Lucky Huber is pleased to announce the hiring of Josh Allen as the new director of operations and assistant coach.
 
Allen joins the Coyote coaching staff as the Director of Operations for both the Track and Field and Cross Country programs. He will also help coach the Coyote sprints, hurdles, and relays.
 
"WE are excited to have Josh join our staff," Huber said, "His background as a track athlete and his experience as Director of Operations at TCU will help us raise our expectations and provide an even better experience for our student athletes."
 
Allen comes to Vermillion after two years as a Director of Operations and Assistant Coach at Texas Christian University (TCU), where he was responsible for recruiting visit planning, team travel, budgeting, and coaching sprints, hurdles, and relays.
 
"I'm ecstatic to join the track and field/cross country programs at USD!" Allen said. "I'm excited to be here and have the opportunity to make a positive impact. I'm confident that my experience and passion can contribute to the success and operations of our program, while helping elevate the competitive spirit and culture of USD Track and Field. Go Yotes!"
 
While coaching at TCU, Allen assisted in coaching one National Champion, four Big 12 Conference champions and over 10 all-Americans.
 
Outside of his work at TCU, he worked as a speed and conditioning coach for Coachup and was a football coach for Sports International. He earned his bachelor's in Exercise Science from Lubbock Christian University where he was a sprinter for the track and field team. He earned his master's at TCU.
