SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Summit League's Preseason Poll has the South Dakota men's golf team tabbed No. 7 heading into their 2025 spring slate.
 
Graduate senior, Max Schmidtke, has also been named to the Preseason Watch List after having a successful fall season. Schmidtke finished inside the top-10 at four of the five golf tournaments and ended with a stroke average of 71.60.
 
The Coyotes will begin their spring season in Goodyear, Arizona February 16-18 at the Loyola Intercollegiate for a 54-hole tournament.
 
The Yotes will also be traveling to North Carolina for the Donald Ross Intercollegiate (March 10-11), Missouri for the Mizzou Invitational (April 8-9), and Indiana for the Boilermaker Invitational (April 19-20).
 
The Coyotes ended their fall slate with a first-place finish at the LaTour Intercollegiate in Matthews, La. They carded round scores of 285, 280, and 285, totaling in (-14) on the course.
 
The men also clinched two fourth place finishes – one at their home tournament, Throw Down Up Top, hosted at Landmand Golf Course and another one at the Tommie Invitational in Stillwater, Minnesota.
