SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota volleyball's
Kamryn Farris picked up her fifth Summit League Kwik Star Defensive Peak Performer of the Week honor this season and the eighth of her career Thursday, as announced by the league office.
Farris led the Yotes with 42 digs across two matches for a 5.25 digs per set average in a pair of Coyote wins. She set a new season-high with 27 digs in a five-set win at Oral Roberts, which was her 11
th match of the season and 28
th of her career with 20+ digs. She also had two assists and an ace against ORU.
In a sweep of NDSU in the regular season finale, Farris had a match high 15 digs and dished out seven assists. Farris tallied double-digit digs in the each of the last seven matches of the regular season and in 26 of 28 matches on the season.
Entering postseason play, Farris ranks No. 23 in the NCAA in total digs (504) and eclipsed 500 digs in a season for the second straight. She also ranks No. 33 in digs per set (4.67) and leads the Summit League in both categories.
Farris and the Coyote earned the No. 2 seed in the Summit League Tournament and will face the winner of No. 3 St. Thomas and No. 6 Omaha on Monday at 3 p.m. in Brookings, South Dakota.
