BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota track and field opens the 2025-26 season Friday afternoon at the SDSU Holiday Open in the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings.

MEET INFORMATION
The SDSU Holiday Open is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. in Brookings. The first event of the day will be the 5,000-meters. The first field events will begin at 3 p.m. with the women's weight throw, men's shot put, the men's and women's long jump, the women's pole vault, and the men's high jump.

HOW TO FOLLOW ALONG
The SDSU Holiday Open will have three streams on the Summit League Network powered by the Midco Sports Plus. There will be dedicated streams to the track events, jumps, and throws. All live results can be found on Dakota Timing.

SUMMIT LEAGUE PRESEASON POLL
The Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll was released Wednesday afternoon. The Coyotes were selected third in the men's poll and tied for third in the women's poll.

The Coyotes named athletes to watch, announced with the preseason polls, are four freshmen looking to make their impact right away. On the men's side,
Braxton Smith and
Caelan Harland are the Yote athletes to watch. On the women's side,

RETURNERS TO WATCH
South Dakota has a pair of returning athletes who've made their mark on the program so far in their careers.

Marleen Mülla has five all-American honors in her career and will have a chance to have more all-American honors than any Coyote in the program's Division I era by the end of her senior season.
Â
Anna Willis earned her first career all-American honor during the 2024-25 outdoor season. This winter she will look to make her first appearance at the indoor championships.
