12.09.2025

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kamryn Farris and Lauren Medeck of South Dakota volleyball landed on the American Volleyball Coaches Association Northwest All-Region Teams, as announced by the AVCA Tuesday morning.

Farris, who was named the Summit League's Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, was selected to the All-Region First Team while Medeck was tabbed an honorable mention. This is Farris' second straight season being honored by the AVCA as she was an All-Region Honorable Mention a year ago.

Farris led the Summit League with 536 digs, her second straight season with 500+ digs, and averaged 4.74 digs per set which also paced the conference. She ranked No. 24 in the NCAA in total digs and No. 28 in digs per set. Farris had double-digit digs in 27 matches, 12 with 20+ and had a season-high 32 vs St. Thomas in the Summit League Tournament. Farris led the Yotes with 38 aces on the year and recorded three double-doubles (digs/assists).

She is the first Coyote to land on the all-region in consecutive seasons since Elizabeth Junke who was an all-region performer four straight years (2019-22). Farris was also just the fifth player in Summit League history to repeat as the Defensive Player of the Year and first since USD's Anne Rasmussen (2018-19).

Medeck appeared in 24 matches and 92 sets for the Coyotes in her sophomore season and paced USD with 345 kills despite missing five matches due to injury. She put away 10+ kills in 21 matches and had 20+ on three occasions. Medeck tallied a career-high 24 kills in a South Dakota reverse sweep of Florida Gulf Coast (9/12/25) and had 13 digs, one ace and four blocks. She had 12 double-doubles on the season (kills/digs).

Medeck ranked No. 3 in the Summit League with a 3.75 kills per set average, No. 14 with 2.60 digs per set and No. 4 with 4.17 points per set.

The Coyotes have had at least one AVCA All-Region honoree each year since 2018 and this marks the fourth time multiple Coyotes have earned all-region honors in the same season over the last seven years.
