PREVIEW: Yotes ready for Pink Game matchup with Roos

VERMILLION, S.D. – The South Dakota women's basketball program is set to host its' annual Pink Game inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center Wednesday evening when the Roos of Kansas City come to town.
 
PINK GAME INFO
The Coyotes will sport their pink jerseys for the annual Pink Game Wednesday night. To go along with the action, four jerseys are being auctioned off to raise money for the Dakota Hospital Foundation, a nonprofit organization in Vermillion committed to a mission supporting community health and wellness.
 
The four jerseys being auctioned off are No. 10, No. 21, No. 33, and No. 41. Bidding for these jerseys can be done at GoYotes.com/Auctions with bidding closing at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night and winners being announced during the game.
 
HOW TO FOLLOW ALONG
The Yotes and Roos are seet for a 7 p.m. tipoff inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Fans can get two tickets to Wednesday's game for $21 with promo code "PINK" at checkout.

Fans unable to attend the game can watch on Midco Sports and on the Summit League Network powered by Midco Sports Plus. Fans can also listen to the game on the Coyote Sports Network as Jerry Palleschi, the voice of South Dakota women's basketball, has the call on KVHT 106.3 FM and on the Varsity Network App.
 
ROUND TWO
• The Coyotes and Kansas City are set for a rematch of a 77-54 Roos victory on January 30 in Kansas City.
• Four Coyotes scored in double figures in the loss, led by Carley Duffney's 17 points.
• Kansas City's Emani Bennett led the Roos with 24 points, including 4-5 from beyond the arc.
• The Roos hit 10-of-15 three-pointers in the first matchup, compared to USD's 11-for-34.
 
SINCE THEY'VE PLAYED
• It's been two weeks since the Yotes and Roos met in Kansas City, and the Yotes are 1-2 in that time while the Roos have only played two games, going 1-1.
• After taking on the Coyotes, Kansas City picked up a road win at Denver 73-65 and lost at home to Omaha Saturday 65-56.
• The Roos had a weekend off after facing the Yotes, then split their two games last week.
• In the loss to Omaha Saturday, the Roos were led by Elauni Bennett's 15 points and eight rebounds.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• The Coyotes dropped a road battle with North Dakota State 75-65 Saturday in Fargo.
• Grace Larkins broke the USD and Summit League single game scoring record with 47 points on 17-of-27 shooting.
• She needs just 33 points to eclipse 2,000 career points.
• Larkins is the first Division I player this season to record two 40-point games, and has two of the four highest scoring outputs by a player this season.
• Larkins won the Summit League Peak Performer honor for the fourth time in six weeks of conference play and has five total weekly awards from the Summit League this season.
 
INSIDE THE KANSAS CITY SERIES
• The Coyotes and Roos meet for the 17th time in series history.
• South Dakota's loss to Kansas City earlier this season snapped a 10-game win streak for the Yotes over the Roos.
• The Yotes are unbeaten at home against the Roos at 5-0, with an averaged margin of victory of 16.6 points per game.
• In last season's game in Vermillion, Grace Larkins had a 21 points and eight rebounds and Alexi Hempe has 11 points in a Coyote win.
 
SUMMIT LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE MONTH
• Grace Larkins (Sr., Altoona, Iowa) has found success on the court this season, and that success is translating into both conference and national honors.
• Larkins earned her fifth Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honor of the season this week after averaging 30 points and 9.5 rebounds.
• She has won four of the six weekly honors during conference play.
• Larkins was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Month for January. She averaged a 26.8-point, 10.6-rebound double-double for the month.
• Last week, Larkins was named to the Ann Drysdale Meyers National Player of the Year Watch List and to the Women's College All-Star Game Watch List.
• Larkins was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year midseason watch list.
On Jan. 14, Larkins made headlines as the AP and USBWA National Player of the Week.
