Coyotes Set To Open Spring Season Sunday, February 16

VERMILLION, S.D.The South Dakota men's golf team will open their spring season with the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Arizona, February 16-18.
 
The Loyola Intercollegiate is a three-day tournament consisting of 18 holes each day. Loyola University (Md.) will host the event at the Palm Valley Golf Club, where the course has a par of 72 and a total yardage of 7,015.
 
Each morning will tee-off at 7:45 a.m. (MST) with a shotgun start. Live scoring will be offered through Scoreboard by Clippd.

FALL SEASON RECAP
The Coyotes hosted their annual Throw Down Up Top tournament at the Landmand Golf Club, a nationally recognized course known for its beauty. The course spans over 20 miles of the hills and basins that cover Homer, Nebraska. Sophomore, Cole Witherow, clinched his highest finish and carded a fall season low by tying for second place with stroke count of 215 in total.
 
Senior, Max Schmidtke, secured two Kwik Star Summit Golf weekly honors while also being listed to the Spring 2025 Preseason Watch list. Schmidtke finished in the top-10 in four of the five tournaments that the Yotes competed in.
 
To end the fall slate, the Coyotes took home a first-place finish from La Tour Intercollegiate held in Matthews, Louisiana, marking the first tournament where the Yotes ended negative on the tournament. The team carded a total stroke count of 850 (-14), with Schmidtke and Logan Hamak (Sr.) being the team's top finishers, tying for sixth-place.
