Haamer earns fifth conference weekly honor of his career

02.18.2025

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – After reaching a new season's best at the Tyson Invitational, South Dakota pole vaulter Eerik Haamer earned the Kwik Star Summit League Men's Indoor Field Peak Performer of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Haamer, a senior from Tartu, Estonia, cleared 18-2 ¾ in the invitational section of the men's pole vault at the Tyson Invitational Saturday to place fourth. It is his highest clearance this season, increasing his Summit League lead in the event and ranks 14th nationally.

Haamer picks up his first Summit League honor of the season and fifth in his Coyote career. The four-time All-American last won a conference weekly honor nearly three years ago (Feb. 15, 2022). He has been all-Summit League indoor each of the last two seasons.

Haamer and the Coyotes are scheduled to compete at the SDSU Last Chance Friday in Brookings for one final tune-up before the Summit League Indoor Championships.
