MESA, Ariz. — The first 18 holes of the three-day Summit League women's golf championships are in the books with the South Dakota women's golf team sitting in a tie for sixth-place after the first day. The Yotes shot a 317 (+33) team score.
After the first day, USD and St. Thomas sit tied and five strokes behind Omaha who sits in fifth place.
Honorable Mention Summit League performer
Ella Greenberg paced South Dakota on the first day down in Arizona. She carded three birdies on the day with two in the first three holes (first and third).
Sitting behind Greenberg are
Catie Nekola and
Emma Henningsson who both sit tied with a 79 (+8) on the day. Henningson also shot birdies on the first and third holes, having the two on the round. Nekola had one birdie on the 13
th hole.

Denver leads the team leaderboard through the first day of competition, the only squad in single digits over par with a 286 (+2) Day 1 score. The Pioneers also have the top-two individuals in the lead, the only two under par on the day, with Emma Bryant and Clara Gestsdottir both carding 70s (-1).
