SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota softball's
Ella McGee was named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Female Newcomer of the Month, announced by the conference Thursday afternoon.
McGee held a .383 batting average across the month of March and tallied the second most hits by a Coyote with 18. McGee scored 15 runs in 17 games played and drove in nine runs. She tallied four extra base hits with a pair of doubles, a triple and an inside-the-park home run.
In the middle of the month, McGee put together a nine-game hit streak near the end of nonconference play and into the first Summit League series against North Dakota. In her first Summit League series, McGee went 5-for-10 from the plate with seven runs and four RBIs. She secured her first three-hit game of the season in the second game against St. Thomas by going 3-for-5 from the plate with two RBIs.
The Coyotes return to conference play this weekend with a three-game series against South Dakota State in Brookings.
