VERMILLION, S.D. — University of South Dakota athletics has announced that former Coyote swimmer
Skyler Leverenz has been named the next Director of Video Production and Creative Content, announced by Associate Athletic Director
Jarren Duffy.
"We are excited to transition Skyler into this role. She made an impact on the external unit over the past two years as a member of the gameday production staff and graduate assistant," noted Duffy. "She brings a unique prospective to the team as a former student-athlete here at USD. Her creativity and work ethic will help produce content that all of Coyote Nation can connect with."
Leverenz began with the athletic department as a graduate assistant for marketing and creative content for the 2024-25 academic year following a three-year swimming career as a Coyote.
"I'm so excited to support the Coyote family in a new way. Being a student-athlete to now a full-time staff member is such a full circle moment," said Leverenz. "USD helped shape me into who I am, both in and out of the pool, and now I get to help shed light on the incredible programs, people, and athletes here."
In her career as a Coyote, Leverenz was a two-time Academic All-Summit League honoree. She also was the recipient of the Nelson Shield Award. Upon graduation, she was a member of three relay teams at South Dakota that hold the school record: 800-freestyle relay (7:22.34), 400-freestyle relay (3:21.15), and the 200-freestyle relay (1:31.30).
Leverenz earned her bachelor's degree in 2024 with a degree in communications from USD. She also earned her master's in sport management from USD in 2025.
