MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Following a one-year absence from the Griak Invitational, the South Dakota cross country teams will be competing Friday morning in Minneapolis, Minn.

The Coyotes hit the course at 10 a.m. for the men and 10:45 a.m. for the women Friday morning. It is South Dakota's second race of the season following a strong start to the year at the Platte River Rumble- Gold race on Sept. 5

South Dakota's first race saw the women place third and the men fifth, while two Coyotes placed inside the top 10 individually,
Geneva Timmerman for the women and
Isaac Ochoa for the men. Timmerman placed seventh in 17:42.7 on the 5k course, leading a pack of four Coyotes inside the top 20 and five inside the top 25. Ochoa placed fifth in 18:02.44 on the 6k course, leading three Coyotes who placed inside the top 15.

Following the strong race in Omaha, the Coyote men moved into 15
th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Rankings, their first time in the rankings since 2014.

RACE INFORMATION
The 39
th year of the Roy Griak Invitational is scheduled for Friday at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Gold (Division I) races are scheduled for 10 (men) and 10:45 (women) a.m.. The men will run an 8k while the women will run a 6k.
