SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The reigning Summit League Defensive Player of the Year,
Kamryn Farris, picked up the conference's first weekly Summit League Kwik Star Defensive Peak Performer of the Week honor, as announced by the Summit League Tuesday afternoon. It's Farris' fourth weekly honor of her career.
Farris led the Coyotes in digs (56), digs per set (4.67) and aces (8) across the three matches this weekend. Farris also dished out 25 assists.
Farris recorded her first 20+ dig match of the season and second career double-double in the second day of the 2025 EVEN Hotel Bobcat Invite with 25 digs and 13 assists against Montana State. She also set a new career high in the match with six aces, besting her previous high of three that she set eight times prior to Saturday.
She tallied 19 digs, two aces and five assists in a 3-0 sweep of Prairie View A&M on Sunday and had 12 digs and seven assists against RV Oregon in the season opener.
Farris and the Yotes head East this week for the UCONN Challenge starting on Thursday when they face the host Huskies at 5:00 p.m. CT in Storrs, Connecticut. South Dakota faces Colgate Friday at 6:00 p.m. CT and closes out the weekend on Saturday vs. Ball State at 10:30 a.m. CT.
