PREVIEW: Coyotes set for final regular season race in Illinois

10.14.2026

VERMILLION, S.D. — South Dakota is set to compete at the Bradley Pink Classic to conclude their 2026 regular season race schedule Friday morning.

South Dakota has had three weeks off after the SDSU Classic was canceled. The Bradley Pink Classic is the first race for the Coyotes since the record setting performances at the Gans Creek Classic on Sept. 25.

THE COYOTES
This fall has been one for the record books for South Dakota. Geneva Timmerman and Isaac Ochoa have ran some of the fastest times in school history and have both seen Summit League honors for their performances.

Geneva Timmerman won the Summit League's Peak Performer of the Week honor for her race at the Augustana Twilight to open the season, and in USD's second race of the season at the Gans Creek Classic, Timmerman ran the second fastest women's 6k in program history.

Isaac Ochoa has two awards and a school record to his name this fall. In the opening race of the season, his time at the Augustana Twilight earned him USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honors. His school record race at the Gans Creek Classic, running the fastest 8k in school history and second fastest in Summit League history, earned him Summit League Peak Performer.

YOTES AT THE BRADLEY PINK CLASSIC
South Dakota has been a regular competitor at the Bradley Pink Classic over the last 10-plus years. Amber Eichkorn's women's 6k USD record at the Newman Golf Course of 20:11.8 was set in 2015. Madison Brouwer ran 20:46.73 in an NCAA Midwest Regional on this same course in 2024, the fourth fastest 6k on the course in school history.

Last year at the Pink Classic, Isaac Ochoa ran 24:24.5 to place 12th, and it is the second fastest 8k on the course by a USD runner. Mubarik Musa's 24:09.2 in 2015 is the time to beat.
