Mülla named Summit League Indoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Year

03.23.2026

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota senior Marleen Mülla had one of the most successful Division I indoor seasons in South Dakota women's track and field this year, and capped her season by earning the Summit League Indoor Women's Field Athlete of the Year honor, announced by the Summit League office Monday afternoon.

Mülla, a senior from Rakvere, Estonia, placed runner-up at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the women's pole vault, clearing 15-1 ½ (4.61m) at the meet to earn her fourth all-American honor indoor and her best finish at an NCAA Meet in her career.

Earlier this winter, Mülla set the South Dakota program record in the pole vault at the Nebraska Tune-Up with a clearance of 15-2 ¼ (4.63m). That also set the Estonian National Record. She placed second or better in every meet this season.

This is Mülla's second Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honor, also winning the award in 2023. USD has won four Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honors on the women's side.
