SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Selena Bird has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Women's Tennis Peak Performer of the Week for singles after a perfect 2-0 weekend, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Against North Dakota on March 27th, Bird delivered a strong performance at No. 2 singles. She defeated Jule Schulte in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, earning a key point for the Coyotes.
Two days later against Kansas City, Bird continued her momentum with another straight-set victory at No. 1 singles. She took down Amal Gati, 6-4, 7-5, helping South Dakota secure a 5-2 team victory.
For the week, Bird finished 2-0 in singles with both wins coming in straight sets. The honor marks the first Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week award for Bird this season.
