GREELEY, Colo. — South Dakota earned a 7-4 victory in the first game before falling 4-2 to Northern Colorado in the second contest of Sunday's games in Greeley.

The Coyotes broke open the first game with a four-run second inning.
Sara Iburg started the rally with a single and later scored on a triple from
Ella McGee.
Abi Brown followed with an RBI double before
Autumn Iversen added a sacrifice RBI and
Madison Evans capped the inning with a run-scoring double to give USD a 4-0 lead.
South Dakota continued to add on in the third when McGee delivered an RBI single, pushing the advantage to 5-0. Iversen later tripled and scored on a groundout by
Kiya Johnson in the fourth, and Brown drove in another run in the fifth to extend the lead to 7-1.
Northern Colorado chipped away late with a solo home run in the fourth and a two-run homer in the sixth, but Evans kept the Bears in check the rest of the way. The right-hander pitched a complete game, striking out 10 while allowing four runs on seven hits.
McGee and Brown each finished with two RBIs to lead the offense, while Iburg recorded two hits and scored twice as the Coyotes totaled 13 hits in the win.

In the second game, Northern Colorado took a 2-0 lead in the third inning following an RBI double and a run that scored on a defensive miscue. The Coyotes answered in the fifth when Iburg doubled and
Kiya Johnson singled to put runners in scoring position.
Brooke Carey then delivered a two-run single to tie the game at 2-2.
The Bears responded in the bottom half of the inning with two runs of their own, including an RBI double and a run that scored on an error to reclaim a 4-2 lead.
South Dakota threatened in the sixth after loading the bases, but Northern Colorado escaped the jam and held the Coyotes scoreless the rest of the way to secure the 4-2 win.
