VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's basketball head coach
Carrie Eighmey is excited to welcome transfer Gabby Jackson, a transfer from North Alabama, to the Coyotes.
Â
Jackson joins the Coyotes after one season at North Alabama, where she started 19 of their 31 games as a freshman. As a 6-1 forward, Jackson led the Lions in rebounding at 6.8 per game. She also averaged 7.7 points.
Â
"Gabby is a great addition to our program! She played valuable minutes in her freshman season and we are excited about her potential moving forward," Eighmey said. "She has the ability to impact both ends of the floor with her length, athleticism, and versatility. She has a great feel for the game, is a skilled passer, and has the ability to score both in the paint and on the perimeter."
Hailing from Shawnee, Kansas and Shawnee Mission Northwest HS, Jackson was selected to the ASUN all-Freshman Team this season. She ranked ninth in the ASUN and was first among freshman in rebounding this season. Jackson was also twice named the ASUN Freshman of the Week in January.
Â
As a prep at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Jackson recorded over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in her career. She also lettered in volleyball and track.
