VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's basketball head coach
Carrie Eighmey is pleased to announced the signing of Latazia Williamson, a senior transfer from Kennesaw State, to the Coyotes for the 2026-27 season.
Â
Williamson joins the Coyotes after a breakout junior season at Kennesaw State, where she averaged 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds over 29 games. She was a 46% shooter from the floor this season and registered 37 blocks and 26 steals on the defensive end.
Â
"Latazia will make our team better on both ends of the floor!" Eighmey said. "She has great length and athleticism and plays with a high motor! She's a rim running, rebounding athlete with the ability to score around the rim in different ways. We are looking forward to her becoming a Yote!"
Over three seasons between Memphis and Kennesaw State, Williamson has seen action in 62 games, averaging 5.0 points and 3.6 rebounds in her career. In her first full season as a starter last season for the Owls, Williamson took advantage.
Â
As a member of the Owls, Williamson totaled 12 double digit scoring games, including three 20-point games and a career high 21 against Jacksonville State in the regular season finale. She also recorded her first career double-double against Western Kentucky.
