Mülla named CSC Academic all-American for second time

07.15.2026

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Marleen Mülla was named a Third Team Academic all-American by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Wednesday, making her the third Coyote track and field athlete to earn multiple Academic All-American honors.

Mülla was one of the nation's best pole vaulters, winning both the Summit League Indoor and Outdoor Pole Vault titles, qualifying for the NCAA Championships both indoor and outdoor, and earning all-American honors for both seasons. A native of Rakvere, Estonia, Mülla graduated with a 3.93 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 grade scale) this spring.

Mülla was the national runner-up indoor this season with a clearance of 15-1 ½ (4.61m) and set the South Dakota indoor school record at 15-2 ¼ (4.63m) at the Nebraska Tune-Up. She was named the Summit League Indoor Women's Field Athlete of the Year and won the Summit League's Peak Performer of the Week honor for women's field three times.

During the outdoor season, Mülla won three more Peak Performer of the Week honors as she continued her strong senior season. She won the Summit League title with a height over one foot above the rest of the competition and advanced through NCAA West First Rounds. Mülla placed 12th at the NCAA Championships to earn second team all-American honors and her seventh all-American honor of a storied career.

Mülla also joins a short list of USD track and field athletes with multiple CSC (previously CoSIDA) Academic all-American honors. Her first CSC Academic All-American came in 2022-23 when she was named second team. She is the first women's track and field athlete at USD to win multiple Academic all-American awards and joins Colte Haines (2006-07, 2007-08) and Zack Anderson (2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21) as the only Coyotes with multiple awards.

She is also a five-time Academic All-Summit League athlete (three indoor, two outdoor) and has been named USTFCCCA All-Academic each season of her career.
