IRVINE, Calif. — The 2025-26 Summit League Swimmer of the Year Nick Rounds had a stellar showing at the 2026 Toyota Swimming National Championships in Irvine, California last week.
 
The rising junior swimmer posted top-25 finishes in all three events he raced in out west. All three times posted by Rounds were lifetime bests and new school records on a long course (meters) record book.
 
He shined in the 100-meter backstroke on July 31 with an eighth-place finish in the finals with a time of 54.38. The time topped was held by Joaquin Contreras-Fallico (57.68).
 
Rounds finished top-20 (18^th) in the 50-meter freestyle on August 1 with a school record (long course (meters)) time of 22.50. It topped the previous school record held by himself (25.07) that he shortened by nearly 2.5 seconds.
 
He also took a 24^th-place finish in the 50-meter back with a time of 25.70 on July 30 to set a school record.
