SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – After making her first three career starts as a Coyote over the weekend, South Dakota volleyball's
Ella Rogers was named the Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Rogers, a sophomore setter from Des Moines, Iowa, dished out 97 assists for a 9.70 assists per set average to help the Coyotes to a 2-1 record in Colorado and Wyoming last weekend. Rogers also tallied 20 digs, four aces and 10 kills.
Rogers did a little bit of everything in Friday's 3-1 win at Wyoming with her first double double as a Coyote with 42 assists and 10 digs. She also tallied six kills on eight swings (no errors), four aces, three blocks (one solo) and guided the Yotes to a .248 hitting percentage.
In USD's sweep of UC Santa Barbara Saturday, Rogers had 29 assists, five digs, one block and two kills.
It is Rogers' first career Summit League weekly honor and the second straight week a Coyote has been recognized, as
Sierra Pokharel was named the Defensive Peak Performer of the Week last Tuesday.
Next up for the Coyotes is the South Dakota Lottery College Volleyball Classic at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Yotes face #14 Minnesota Friday night at 7 p.m. and Washington at 12 p.m. Saturday.
