One of 38 Coyotes who played in all 11 games...earned a start at linebacker vs. UNI (11/10)...finished 19th on the team in tackles with 21 (9 solo, 12 assists)...break out game came in the season finale at South Dakota State where he had seven tackles including 2.5 sacks and blocked a punt that was scooped up and scored for a Coyote touchdown.
2011
Saw action in five games as a reserve linebacker...Recorded four tackles including a sack for eight yards against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
2010
Played in three games as a reserve linebacker...made five tackles, including two solo stops...earned one tackle for loss for two yards...returned one interception 33 yards.
2009
Played in USD wins over William Penn and Drake...named USD's Scout Defensive Player of the Week and Scout Special Teams Player of the Week once each during the season.
2008
Redshirted his first season in the USD program.
Prep
Shanker was a three-year starter on both offense and defense and he was also named to the Big East All-Conference first team... he is a two-time all-state selection and was named to the Elite 45 team... an all-conference pick all three seasons and in his career he ran for over 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns then on defense recorded 250 tackles... also won letters in baseball, basketball, and track... a member of the National Honor Society... played for coach Tim Huges.
