Jimmie Foster Named Men's Basketball NCC Player Of The Week

VERMILLION, S.D. - Jimmie Foster, a 6'4" forward on the University of South Dakota men's basketball team, has been named North Central Conference Player of the Week, according to an announcement today by the conference office.

Foster, a junior college transfer from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, averaged 26 points and 6.5 rebounds in leading the Coyotes (11-2, 5-1 NCC) to wins over Northern Colorado (80-74, Jan. 5) and Nebraska-Omaha (83-70, Jan. 6).

Originally of Milwaukee, Wis., Foster made 18-of-24 field goals for a blistering 75 percent, and he also hit 15-of-18 free throws for 83.3 percent during the two games. Foster scored a career-high 30 points against Northern Colorado, converting 11-of-14 (.786) field goals and 7-of-9 (.778) free throws. He also had six rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block in the win.

Other NCC players nominated included: Forrest Witt, St. Cloud State, Kyle Behrens, North Dakota, Seth Nelson, Nebraska-Omaha, Reggie York, Northern Colorado, Matt Schneiderman, Morningside, Drew Carlson, Minnesota State, Mankato.
