The University of South Dakota split a pair of games on Saturday at the Jackrabbit Burger King Invitational at Southbrook Park in Brookings. The Coyotes, who are now 27-25 on the season, defeated Northern State, 5-3, and lost to Missouri Southern, 7-1. South Dakota finished 3-2 at the tournament. Truman State won the Jackrabbit Invitational by winning all five of their games. The Coyotes will travel to Morningside on Tuesday, April 17 for a doubleheader before hosting Augustana in softball action on Thursday, April 19 at Nygaard Field in Vermillion.
Round 4 - USD 5, Northern State 3
South Dakota scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth and hung on to defeat Northern State University, 5-3 at the Jackrabbit Invitational on Saturday. Jessica Bills hit a home run and Keri Bolte had two hits. Cyndy Bronte had three hits while Dana Jesnowski and Nicole Osborn had two hits to lead Northern State. The Wolves also received a solo home run from Amy Gurney. Sara Medved was the winning pitching and Janice Alswager picked up a save for the Coyotes. Gurney took the loss for the Coyotes.

Round 5 - Missouri Southern State 7, USD 1
Paula Baker had two hits, including a three-run home run in the seventh inning, to lead Missouri Southern to a win at the Jackrabbit Invitational on Saturday. Missouri Southern won their 40th game as Britany Hargis limited the Coyotes to one run on five hits. Tiffany Davis had a RBI double in the sixth inning. Tiffany Hill started for South Dakota and took the loss. She fell to 9-12 on the season.
