VERMILLION, S.D. (January 19, 2002) - Freshmen Mark Anderson (Loveland, Colo.) and Jesse Lee (Coon Rapids, Minn.) of The University of South Dakota men's diving team, and sophomore Lindsey Schafer (Mandan, N.D.) of the South Dakota women's diving team qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships in Orlando, Fla, March 13-16.
The South Dakota diving team competed against North Dakota in a dual on Saturday, Jan. 19.
Anderson finished second with 491.0 points in the 3-meter competition to nationally qualify. He also was second in the 1-meter with 266.00 points. Lee won the 1-meter competition with 281.95 points to qualify for the national meet.
Schafer posted 374.80 points in the 1-meter event to qualify for the national championships.
