ST. JOSEPH, MO. -- The South Dakota men's golf team finished the first round of the Missouri Western State Invitational in 15th place Monday with a team score of 320 at Fairview Golf Club in St. Joseph, Mo.
Junior Kent Peterson (Salem, S.D.) fired a 6-over-par 78, placing him in a tie for 27th to lead the Coyotes.
Scott Beckman of USD also carded a 78, but entered the tournament as an individual scorer.
Other South Dakota results included: Chris Knight (Aberdeen, S.D.), t36th, 79; Jon Sorenson (Beresford, S.D.), t48th, 81; Jesse Talcott (Sioux Falls, S.D.), t59th, 82; Derrick Brown (Vermillion, S.D.), t73rd, 85.
