SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Seven members of the South Dakota Swimming and Diving squad have been named to the first-ever North Central Conference Commissioner's Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll, which was released on Tuesday by the league office.
The South Dakota student-athletes named to the honor roll includes Megan Gordon, a sophomore history major from Grand Rapids, Minn.; Emilie Kluth, a sophomore general studies major, Columbus, Neb.; Leita Rolfe, a sophomore English and second education major from Newcastle, Wyo.; Jill Smolczyk, a sophomore psychology major from Omaha, Neb.; Jessica Tietz, a senior special/elementary education from Williston, N.D.; Brianna Wass, a senior elementary education major from Douglas, Wyo.; and Eric Thorsen, a junior business major from Eden Prairie, Minn.
The seven from USD join a total of 78 student-athletes, who were selected to the honor roll. To qualify, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.20 grade point average, completed at least two semesters at their current school and competed against outside competition.
