MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (Feb. 4, 2006)--The South Dakota men and women's swimming and diving teams had strong performances on the second day of the Minnesota Challenge hosted by the University of Minnesota at the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
The men's team recorded 10 top-10 finishes, including a second-place finish by the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Pat Albertson, David Lind, Tim Murman and John Murman, which clocked a 3:15.55. Josh Fleming also recorded a seventh and ninth place finish in the 200 (2:21.48) and 100-yard (1:04.07) breaststroke events.
On the women's side, the 400-yard freestyle quartet of Brianna Wass, Mary Klima, Leita Rolfe, Stacy Bjorlie won the event in 3:43.14. Stacy Bjorlie also claimed a victory in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.13 seconds.
Next up for both teams is the North Central Conference Championships, Feb. 15-18, in Grand Forks, N.D.
