VERMILLION, S.D. - The South Dakota swimming and diving teams are back in action this weekend with a pair of home duals. The Coyote women will entertain Big 12 Conference foe Iowa State for a 6 p.m. dual on Friday, while both South Dakota teams will play host to Western Illinois for a 1 p.m. dual on Saturday.

Both duals will be held at the DakotaDome pool in Vermillion, S.D.

It is the first action for the Coyote teams since Nov. 15. The men lost duals to North Dakota and St. Cloud State, while the women fell to North Dakota.

Western Illinois is a Summit League foe that the Coyotes will see at the Summit League Championships in February.

Senior Dane Van Arkel (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was victorious in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.20. He finished second to Stoddard in the 100 freestyle at 53.88.

She won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:09.42, won the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.57 and the 400 freestyle with a time of 4:34.03. That consisted of freshman Corey Wannamaker (New Berlin, Wis.), junior Kaitlyn Jefferson (Westland, Mich.), freshman Lydia Engberg (Bismarck, N.D.) and Hoffman.

Wannamaker won an event in her Coyote debut as she captured the 50 freestyle with a time of 28.01. Junior Shannon Moceri (South Lyon, Mich.), who missed 2010-11 with injury, made a successful return with a pair of top two finishes. Moceri won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:17.91, and added a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke at 2:51.75.
