USD head coach Dave Boots post-game quotes:
On Wyoming's defense…
They are a very good defensive team. They did a nice job against us on the perimeter and they were good inside as well. We had a tough time shooting over them with their length and with how physical they were. They are certainly one of the better defensive teams we will face.
On the play of his team…
We were a lot more disciplined tonight in how we played. The result was disappointing, but at least we came out and competed. They shot really well. We played a tough man-to-man, we tried to get through all of the screens and I thought we did a good job of defending their bigs.
On the play of Wyoming senior Luke Martinez…
Martinez had a big night. He was just a bigger kid. He shot over the top of us and scored even when we had a hand in his face.
On tomorrow's game with North Carolina Central…
North Carolina Central is a quick, active team. They are going to press us. They will come full-court, three-court and half-court. They have big, strong kids and are quick on the perimeter. This is a good tournament. We are playing teams that are going to help us get better, but you don't come out here just for that. We have to win games. That's what it is all about and we have to figure out a way to get it done.
