Nov. 4, 2014

VERMILLION, S.D.—The South Dakota women's and men's cross country teams are ranked 10th and 15th, respectively, in the final Midwest regional rankings of the season released by the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.

The Coyote women remain regionally ranked for the fifth straight week. They fell one place from a week ago to 10th, bumped by Illinois State's runner-up finish behind No. 3 Bradley at the Missouri Valley Conference meet. Iowa State remains at No. 1 for the women.

After finishing third behind IUPUI, No. 8 in the NCAA Great Lakes region, at the Summit League Championships, the Coyote men slide back into the regional rankings at 15th. The South Dakota State men are ranked one place ahead of South Dakota in 14th. Oklahoma State holds onto the No. 1 spot for the men heading into the regional meet.

South Dakota travels to Peoria, Ill., for the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday, Nov. 14.
