TEMPE, Ariz.—South Dakota senior Katie Wetzstein placed third in the 1,500 meters at the Baldy Castillo Invitational at Joe Selleh Track.
 
Wetzstein crossed the line in 4 minutes, 26.46 seconds. Wetzstein was four seconds shy of her own school record set last season. Arizona State's Jen Owen won in 4:19.62.
 
The Coyotes continue competition tomorrow at 12 p.m. CT.
