2016 Kip Janvrin Open Results
INDIANOLA, Iowa—South Dakota senior
Erik Jorgensen and freshman
Julia Junkroski swept the men's and women's pole vault at the Kip Janvrin Open at Bill Buxton Stadium.
Jorgensen cleared 16 feet, 2 ¾ inches to take the event. Freshman
Kaleb Ellis tied for third with a height of 15-3.
Junkroski made 12-7 ½ on her first attempt to seal her win. Senior
Janelle Noga cleared the same height and placed third. Sophomore
Maddie Aune was seventh after jumping over 12-1 ½.
Junior
Jay Cooper was the top collegiate and third overall in the 400-meter hurdles. Cooper clocked 53.35 seconds. Sophomore
Tomas Kamenik took sixth in 54.95. Freshman
Alex Borchers finished 12th after crossing the line in 55.87.
Sophomore
Colette Christensen placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 36-9 and took 13th in the high jump after clearing 4-11.
Freshmen hurdlers
Alanisse Williams and
Haley Bruggeman took eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 400 hurdles. Williams crossed the line in 1:04.12 and Bruggeman followed behind in 1:04.78. Williams also took 10th in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.03 seconds.
Freshman
Pierce Libbey crossed the line in 4:05.46 to take 23rd in the 1,500 meters in a field of 60 athletes.
South Dakota returns to action at the Drake Relays Friday at 8:30 a.m.
