STOCKTON, Calif. — After the first day and 18 holes of the Pacific Visit Stockton Invitational, South Dakota junior
Tommy Vining is in second place with the Coyote men sitting in seventh place of the 111-man, 20-team tournament.

Vining utilized an eagle and four birdies to fire a 4-under-par 68. He trails Filip Lundell of Grand Canyon as he shot a 7-under-par 65.

Sophomore
Matt Tolan is tied for 17
th after shooting a 2-under-par 70 with
Jacob Michel sitting in a tie for 29
th with a 1-under-par 71. Tolan tallied five birdies over the first day to aid in his score.

The final two point scorers for South Dakota are
Scott Fudenberg and
Tate Arends, who are each tied for 88
th with a 76.

South Dakota tallied 285 strokes as a team, sitting just six strokes behind Santa Clara who leads the field with a 279.

The second round gets underway Friday morning with the final round slated for Saturday. All three rounds are taking place at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California. The course is playing 7,082 yards and to a par 72.
