Amber Eichkorn paced the Coyote distance runners with a third-place finish in the 5,000 meters at the SDSU Classic inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
Eichkorn crossed the finish line in 17 minutes even. Her time of 16:54.38 from the Minnesota Jack Johnson Classic continues to top the Summit League this season. The three-time Summit League cross country champions placed six in the top-15 of the race. Sophomore
Megan Billington took sixth in 17:16.13, junior
Erin Wetzstein was seventh in 17:29.49 and sophomore
Madeline Huglen was ninth in 17:37.56. The group was rounded out by freshman
Kianna Stewart and junior
Lindsay Joyce in 14th and 15th, respectively.
The seventh member to that squad, freshman
Julia Noah, placed fourth in the 3,000 meters on Friday. Noah clocked the 10th-best mark in the Summit this season with a time of 10:03.99.
On the men's side, sophomore
Hunter Paulsen led the crew in 14th place with a time of 15:18.43. His mark ranks fifth in the Summit this season. Junior
Brice Cowman and sophomore
Pierce Libbey placed 16th and 19th, respectively.
In the sprints, sophomore
Jovane Parkinson placed 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 22.16 seconds.
The Coyotes return to action at the SDSU Classic tomorrow at 10:15 a.m.
