VERMILLION, S.D. – After having to cancel the USD Early Bird due to poor weather conditions, South Dakota track and field hosted the USD Snooze Button Classic Wednesday afternoon at the Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion.

TOP PERFORMERS
• Of the 14 USD event winners, two of them also set personal bests that are inside the USD Top 10.
•
Brandon Vander Sluis recorded an outdoor shot put best of 58-10 ¾ (17.95m) Wednesday. That mark ties him for 23
rd in the NCAA West Region so far this spring and is first in the Summit League.
• He also jumps to fourth on the USD outdoor top 10 in the shot put and he placed second in the discus Wednesday at 169-6.
•
Kenya Harris won the triple jump at 39-10 ½ (12.15m), a distance that is ninth on the USD Top 10.
• A third new top 10 mark was set Wednesday when
Bre Dunn ran a personal best 1:00.32 in the 400 hurdles. That time ranks 48
th in the NCAA West Region.
•
Jaden Damiano and
Mikael Grace took the top two spots in the 110-meter hurdles. Damiano's 13.86 is tied for 18
th in the West Region and Grace's 13.94 is tied for 27
th.
•
Caelan Harland and
Wyatt Stewart cleared 17-1 in the men's pole vault, tying for 21
st in the NCAA West this spring.
•
Maddie Olson cleared 5-7 ¾ (1.72m) to win the high jump, tied for 36
th in the NCAA West Region.
