Bennett adds two for 2019-20 golf squad

VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's golf head coach Brett Bennett is pleased to announce the additions of Jalea Culliver and Olivia Roper for the 2019-20 golf season.
 
"The program is fortunate to be adding two great student-athletes to our roster," Bennett said. "These two, and their families, are the type of people that we are looking for to build the culture that is needed to be successful. The most vital part of our program are the student-athletes that are part of it. It begins and ends with them, and I am excited to have Jalea and Oliva be Coyotes."

Culliver, the 2018 individual Class A State Champion in Nebraska, is a four-year letter winner at Marian High School. She has been first-team all-Metro on three occasions and earned two Nebraska All-State Super Team accolades, culminating with her state championship title.
 
Off the course, she is an academic all-state honoree and a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to be a finance major at the University of South Dakota.
 
Olivia Roper | Denver, Colo. | East HS | Pre-Law
 
Roper is a two-time team captain at East High School where she is a three-time Colorado state qualifier. She is the City Cup Champion for Denver Public Schools in 2016 and 2017, earning all-city honors three years running. On the junior circuit, she is the 2018 Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Player of the Year.
 
She plans to major in pre-law at South Dakota.
 
The duo will enroll in classes in the fall of 2019.
 
"Their junior golf experience will let them to come in and contribute to our program immediately," Bennett added. "Adding these types of players are what will allow our program to compete at the top of the Summit League."
