SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota junior
Helen Falda has been named the Summit League Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the period ended Jan. 27. She earns the honor for the first time this season and second time of her career.
Falda won the pole vault at the Jack Johnson Classic with a career-best height of 14 feet, 2 inches. The vault moved her to eighth in the NCAA standings and cements her at the top of the Summit League. She leads the league by seven inches this season.
South Dakota hosts its lone home meet of the season on Saturday. The Dakota Realty Alumni Meet kicks off at 11 a.m. inside the DakotaDome.
