SIOUX FALLS — South Dakota sophomore Habiba Aly has been named the Summit League women's tennis athlete of the week.
 
Aly posted a pair of individual wins during the Coyotes dual matches against Iowa State and Drake.
 
Playing No. 2 singles, Aly posted wins over Iowa State's Regina Espindola (7-6, 6-7, 10-7) and Drake's Carmen Palumbo (6-1, 6-3).
 
"I'm really proud of how Habiba played last weekend," coach Brett Barnett said. "She played smart and with a lot intensity and beat a very good Iowa State player and followed it up with a nice win over a very talented Drake opponent. She is always capable of this high level of tennis and I know she is ready to compete hard again this weekend."
