LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A second-round 309 pushed South Dakota up the leaderboard during the second round of the Cardinal Cup on Saturday afternoon as the Coyotes moved into 14th at the University of Louisville Golf Club.
Matching scores of 76 in the second round from
Julia Hall and
Megan Munneke provided the push for the Coyotes on Saturday. No. 20 Kentucky leads the tournament by four strokes over Campbell and host No. 42 Louisville entering the final round of play on Sunday, while Louisville's Hana Ryskova and Kansas' Sera Tadokoro are tied atop the player leaderboard through 36 holes.
Emma Sabbagh continues to lead the South Dakota card after a 79 on Saturday to put her at 151 (72-79) for the tournament, good for a tie for 28th overall. Just two strokes behind is Hall (77-76-153), who posted a very steady round with 14 pars to improve on her mark from Friday by one shot.
Laerke Jensen (82-78) and Munneke (84-76) are each tied at 160 through two rounds. Munneke's round on Saturday was her second-best of the fall thus far, topped only by a 74 in the second round at the Aggie Invitational two weeks ago.
Closing out the card for the Coyotes was
Elizabeth Duncan (86-90-176), who is competing for the first time since early September.
Sunday's final round will feature a shotgun start for all golfers at 8 a.m. (CT). South Dakota is set to be paired alongside Ball State, Eastern Kentucky and Murray State and will tee off on holes 12-15 on Sunday morning.
