VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota triathlon head coach Kyle Joplin is pleased to announce the signing of Parker Albright and Paige Horner to National Letters of Intent.
 
"We are very excited about Paige and Parker signing with South Dakota," said Joplin. "Both are talented athletes that should have a big impact on our program."
 
Parker Albright | Roanoke, Va. | Cave Spring HS
 
Hailing from Roanoke, Virginia, Parker Albright finished runner-up at the 2018 USA Triathlon Junior National Championship in 1:01:42. She was a two-time champion at the USA Triathlon Youth Elite Championships. Albright also competed for Team USA at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A member of Cave Spring High School's cross country team, Albright won a Virginia Class 3A state in 2017. She also finished runner-up the year prior. Albright plans to major in kinesiology and sport management at South Dakota.
 
Paige Horner | Johnston, Iowa | Johnston HS
 
A native of Johnston, Iowa, Paige Horner placed third at the 2018 USA Triathlon Junior National Championships in 1:01:55. She went on to place 17th at the Junior Elite World Championships and finish as the top American at the meet. Horner ran cross country and swam for the Dragons. She won an Iowa Class 4A title on the cross country course in 2017, topping the field by 15 seconds. Horner holds a personal best of 17:51 for 5,000 meters on the cross country course.
 
Both will enroll at and be eligible to compete for South Dakota in the fall of 2020.
