CEDAR FALLS, Iowa –
Madilyn Sindelar swam to an individual victory during South Dakota women's swimming and diving dual loss (206-93) to Northern Iowa on Saturday.
Sindelar, a sophomore from Rocklin, California, earned her second win of the season in the 100 fly, this time swimming the event in 58.41 seconds.
Five Coyotes posted runner-up individual finishes during the dual as freshman
Emily Johnson posted second-place finishes in the 200 free (1:58.52) and 100 free (54.95).
Sabrina Sabadeanu, a senior, placed second in the 200 IM while South Dakota also received individual runner-up finishes from freshmen
Taylor Rau (100 breast) and
Maria Mattaini (500 free) along with sophomore
Jordyn Schnell (50 free).
The foursome of Sabadeanu, Rau, Sindelar and Schnell swam 1:49.83 to finish second in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Sindelar, Schnell,
Ashley Storm and
Maddie Gallagher swam 1:40.73 to finish second in the 200 free relay.
Sabadeanu (100 back) and Schnell (100 free) each earned third-place finishes, as did
Gabi Gilliana (200 breast),
Maren Iverson (200 fly) and
Isabel Fairbanks (200 IM).
The Coyotes men and women's teams return to the pool on Nov. 21-23 for the University of Sioux Falls Invitational held at Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls.
