AUSTIN, Texas—A pair of Coyote women's pole vaulters leaped past 14 feet to highlight action Friday at the 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays inside Mike A. Myers Stadium.
South Dakota junior
Helen Falda vaulted 14 feet, 3 ½ inches, to take over the top spot in the NCAA standings. She captured Section B of the women's pole vault at the Texas Relays with the third-attempt make. Falda sits third in South Dakota program history with the mark, narrowly missing her personal best of 14-4 ½ from her time at UT Arlington.
Senior
Kimmy Peterson took third in the section with a new personal best jump of 14-1 ¾. Peterson, a graduate transfer from USF, broke 14 feet for the first time in her career on Friday. She ties for third in the NCAA with the mark. Freshman
Deidra Marrison took 14th with a jump of 13-3 ¾.
In the men's high jump, senior
Deshonn Brown cleared an outdoor-best height of 6-10 ¼. He placed fourth in Section B.
Coyote discus throwers, junior
Kino Dunkley and senior
Ben Hammer, placed 10th and 11th, respectively, in Section A of the men's discus. Dunkley launched the discus 178-5 for 10th while Hammer finished just behind with a throw of 177-7.
Sophomore
Callie Henrich took 12th in Section B of the women's shot put. She threw the shot 45-3 ½.
Junior
Tasheka Gordon placed second in her heat of the 100-meter preliminaries, clocking 11.97 seconds.
The men's 4x400-meter relay finished 18th with a time of 3:16.11. Senior

Habib Jallow. Junior Sal Fidone took the third leg and sophomore
Aleksi Rosler anchored the relay.
South Dakota competed in the women's 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay, taking 26th and 32nd, respectively, in the competitive field.
The Coyotes return to action at the Texas Relays with a handful of field events Saturday beginning at 2:45 p.m.
Bobcat Invitational
SAN MARCOS, Texas—South Dakota junior
Zack Anderson broke his own USD program record to win the men's high jump Friday at the Bobcat Invitational hosted at Texas State this weekend.
Anderson cleared 7-2 ½, nearly an inch past his previous outdoor best, to win the event. Three Coyotes joined him in the top-six of the results. Senior
Deshonn Brown returned from Texas Relays to jump for a second time on Friday, clearing 6-8 ¾ at Texas State for third place. Freshman

Travis Larson placed fifth and sixth, respectively.

Kianna Stewart finished runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Stewart crossed the finish line in 11:06.98, while the winner Teresha Jacobs of Wayland Baptist took gold in 11:06.29.

Nick Johnson took third in the pole vault after a jump-off, clearing 16-4 ¾.
Following her steeplechase race at the Texas Relays on Thursday, senior
Madeline Huglen finished just off her personal best in the 1,500 meters and took fourth at the Bobcat Invitational. She clocked 4:33.95 in the race.
Senior
Lara Boman threw the hammer for the second-straight day. She followed up on her Texas Relays performance with a fourth-place finish at the Bobcat Invitational. Boman launched the hammer 202-2.
Wrapping up a two-day competition, senior
Haley Bruggeman improved five spots in the women's heptathlon to fourth place. She tallied 4,641 points. Sophomore
Holly Gerberding took eighth with 4,506 points.

Habib Jallow and sophomore
Aleksi Rosler went from Austin to San Marcos in the same afternoon. The duo both finished fourth in their respective events. Rosler cracks USD's outdoor top-10 list, clocking 47.87 seconds for the open 400 meters. Jallow finished the 400 hurdles in 53.79 seconds.
Senior
Ethan Fenchel launched the hammer 194-4 to take fifth in the field.
