RAYMORE, Mo.—South Dakota women's golf sits seven shots outside of the top-three teams and in sixth place overall following two rounds at the Kansas City Intercollegiate hosted by Creekmoor Golf Club. The event features 67 individuals from 10 teams. The third and final round will take place Tuesday.
Coyote senior
Lexi Petersen equaled her best round of the season, a 3-under par 69 for the first 18 that put her in second place. The round, which featured five birdies and two bogeys, equaled her own 69 posted back in October. Petersen came back with a 78 in round two and sits alone in sixth place at 3-over.
Freshman
Laerke Jensen gives South Dakota two players in the top-15. Jensen shot rounds of 77 and 74 and is tied for 13
th overall at 7-over.
Oral Roberts, which has three golfers in the top six, is 16 strokes clear of the field at 4-over. The Golden Eagles' Beatriz Garcia and Sarah Bell sit atop the leaderboard at 7-under and 2-under, respectively. Missouri State (+20) and Wichita State (+28) round out the top three in the team race. South Dakota stands at 35-over. Fellow Summit League teams North Dakota (+45) and Omaha (+70) are in seventh and 10
th place, respectively.
South Dakota has nine golfers in the field. Factoring into the team scores in addition to Petersen and Jensen are
