FORT COLLINS, Colorado – South Dakota men's golf team sits in sixth place after two rounds at the Ram Masters Invitational played Monday at Fort Collins Country Club.
The Coyotes shot identical 18-hole rounds of 284 to sit at 688 heading into Tuesday's final round. The men are just one shot out of fourth and eight shots out of third.
Host Colorado State leads after two rounds at 550, while Wyoming is in second at 557.
South Dakota registered 12 birdies in the opening round and added 15 more in the second round as
Scott Fudenberg and
Jacob Michel are sitting tied for 20
th at 141 after 36 holes of play.
Fudenberg, a senior, shot a two-under 68 in the opening round and posted a 73 in the second round and totaled seven birdies on his rounds.
Michel, a junior, shot rounds of 71 and 70 and had five birdies over his 36 holes on the day.
Matt Tolan, a senior, bounced back from an opening 76 to shot one-under 69 in a round that included five birdies.
Rounding out the Coyotes were
Ben Hicks, who shot 70-72 for 142 and
Justin Kolb, who shot 75-74 for 149.
