Women's golf adds Paige Hoffman

VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's golf head coach Brett Bennett is pleased to announce the addition of Paige Hoffman to the Coyotes women's golf team. Hoffman will join the team next season.
 
"After the first phone call, I knew Paige was someone that would continue to add to our culture," Bennett said. "It has been such a pleasure to get to know her and her family throughout the recruiting process. It excites me to have them become a part of the Coyote family. Paige has had a tremendous junior golf career and will make an immediate impact on our program. Her aspirations and vision of success match where this program is headed."
 
At West Des Moines Valley High School, Hoffman earned Class 4A state individual and team championship honors in 2019. The year before she earned individual runner-up honors. She twice earned a spot on the all-Iowa Girls' Golf All-Class Elite team and was a two-time nominee for the Iowa High School Girls' Golfer of the Year. Hoffman won the honor of 4A Player of the Year in Iowa in 2019. In 2019, Hoffman had a scoring average of 73 and won 13 of 14 events. She has earned the title of Iowa Golf Association's Junior Girls' Player of the Year twice along with being a seven-time IAPGA Player of the Year. This past season, she won the 2019 Iowa Women's Amateur Championship and placed in the top-20 at the 2019 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship.
 
In the classroom, she earned academic letters the past three seasons and earned the AP Scholar Award for the 2019-20 school year. Hoffman has earned academic all-conference honors twice and was named to the DMACC President's List for the 2019-20 season. She currently is a member of the National Honor Society and plans to study business administration at USD.
