VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball has been picked second in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major preseason poll released Wednesday.
The Coyotes are ranked in the 52nd consecutive CollegeInsider.com poll. This also marks the 21st-straight top-five ranking in the poll. South Dakota started and finished first in the mid-major poll last season, never dropping out of the top-five throughout the entirety of the season.
South Dakota is also receiving votes in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches preseason polls.
The Coyotes tip-off with No. 1 South Carolina at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the first game of the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic held at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast and Western Athletic.
